The Holidays are a time to get together with loved ones and create memories. My husband and anyone who really knows me, knows how much I LOVE the holidays! I go all out with decorating, party planning and desserts! You only live once right?
This holiday margarita is by far now my favorite margarita, it's a nice twist of spice and holiday cheer. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
You will need to start by making your simple syrup. To do so, you will need 1 inch of fresh ginger, 1 Cup of water, 1 cup of sugar, 8 all spice berries, 8 cloves & 3 cinnamon sticks. Bring all ingredients to a boil and then turn off the heat and let it steep for 1 hour to cool. Once it's cool you can transfer it to a container to store in the fridge or use right away.
To make your drink, you will need 2 oz of Tequilla (I love the Hornitos lime), 1 1/2 oz of your simple syrup, 1 dash of bitters (I use orange), 1/2 oz freshly squeezed lime juice. Shake the ingredients all together and serve over ice. If you want to add any of the cinnamon sticks, cloves, etc in your drink, you can. I think it make it look more festive, especially when you're entertaining!
